The CBDT has announced that taxpayers now have an extra month to file their tax audit reports for the Assessment Year 2025–26. The deadline is October 31, 2025, instead of the original date of September 30, 2025.
This decision was made in response to requests from professional groups and taxpayers who faced difficulties due to natural disasters and technical issues in completing their audits on time. Although the CBDT stated that its e-filing system had been running smoothly, with over 402,000 tax audit reports submitted by September 24, 2025.
